Organization Description:
Hope for Cameroon is a registered apolitical non-governmental organization located in Montreal-Canada and Douala-Cameroon that aims to improve the livelihoods of internally displaced persons – particularly women and children who are victims of the Anglophone crisis. With over 1.5 years of existence, HfC has raised over $16,000, executed 4+ projects, and impacted the lives of over 350 internally displaced persons in the areas of education, humanitarian aid, business, and entrepreneurship development.
Role Description:
The Grant Coordinator may work remotely and report to the Program Manager and Board of Directors. The Grant Coordinator will develop and implement internal grant and sponsorship strategies that allows Hope for Cameroon (HfC) to secure grants from governments, corporations and other organizations whose values align with those of HfC. Initially, a major priority will be to research and apply for grants to support HfC’s projects on the education of internally displaced children, as well as our Women Empowerment Initiative in Business and Entrepreneurship Development – two major areas of Hope for Cameroon’s work.
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential grantors.
- Develop grant proposals and submit applications to potential grantors
- Create and implement fundraising and development plans for long-term capital campaigns for HfC projects.
- Develop strategies and write internal recommendations.
- Write reports and solicit materials for program donors.
- Produce and provide budget breakdown for grant projects.
- Set up, monitor and maintain internal grant database system.
Qualifications of Ideal candidate:
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Versed with various writing styles, document composition, proofreading, and editing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop
- Adept at managing relationships with Hope for Cameroon’s external stakeholders, including convening and facilitating meetings.
- Natural problem solver and results-oriented
- Deadline-driven and organized.
- Proven success in fundraising and grant sourcing is a plus!
